Nuad Bo-Rarn Thai Massage

Like Shiatsu, Nuad Bo-Rarn (Northern style) Traditional Thai Massage is applied on a mat on the floor with loose clothing and uses no oils or lotions. Thai massage has origins dating back about 2500 years. The man attributed for developing and preserving the art is the Father Doctor Shivaga Komarpaj, a close companion to the Buddha. Thai massage is often referred to as "passive yoga". It incorporates many aspects of Hatha Yoga along with acupressure, reflexology, stretching, and compressing. The therapist uses thumbs, fingers, palms, fists, feet, forearms, knees, and elbows to do the work. Thai massage works with theories of opening energy lines in the body called "Sen lines". This work can be extremely profound and intense while at the same time not overly so when performed correctly. The work is slow and concentrated and usually is a minimum of 1.5 hours.
